Less Sugar, Not No Sugar
Wow - blog posting time again. I hope that I am able to continue to post regularly on Foxy's, my mission for the business and how we're progressing. It's highly likely that NO ONE will read this at all, but it is a wonderful outlet for me to espouse, to vent, to enquire and inquire. Below is a little information as to why we reduced the sugar in Foxy's, rather than eliminate it all together and added organic inulin.
Sugar in your diet
So it would seem that the Fat Lobby in Washington won. After years of campaigning against the sugar mob, fat has done it - and with good reason. There is a significant amount of research both medically, scientifically and academically that points to sugar being the guilty party. Denying yourself sugar is torture, but reducing or monitoring your intake really can help you live longer, healthier, slimmer and happier.
There are a bunch of sugar replacements on the market - natural, artificial, sustainable - you name it. We have used organic inulin as a supplement for the sugar that we took out. It helps with physical structure of the ice cream, and adds a calorie free sweetness - it's also being studied more and more as a fibre supplement for your digestion. Inulin also acts as a pre-biotic to the probiotics - it provides a wonderful medium in your digestive system for the probiotics and your natural flora and fauna to thrive.
